peyote trouble
    #3443043 - 12/03/04 06:35 PM (12 years, 8 days ago)

I grafted my 4cm lopho (the pic in my avitar), around late july and it grew wonderfully through the rest of the growing season. It bloomed twice, and now appears to be dormant (normal), except for a dark pink fruit slowly emerging, which i was hoping for. Anyways i came home today and noticed one side of the cactus is kind of squishy.... not terribly, but it seems like someone pushed those areas too hard. There is no rot or anything else abnormal, but one side is very squishy all of the sudden. I was wondering if its from lack of water, or the cold... or maybe even cuz its devoting its growth to this fruit?

just wondering what you guys think.

thanks

pics would help, but in my experience squishy = bad

cold can definitely do that, how cold is it?

lack of water could also do that, but usually a cacti that dries out will do it in a more uniform way.

good luck
