I believe this is a Amanita Muscaria or a var. formsa please help with identification if any experts. Also an tips on ingestion would be useful thanks. Found in eastern wyoming after heavy rains. At the end of June in the pine trees.

Heres what I've read on preperation for the Amanitas:

Cook them in the oven so that the Ibotenic Acid turns into Muscimol. Muscimol is the stuff that you want, if you eat it fresh, some Ibotenic Acid will convert to Muscimol but not much... much more efficent to cook them. Heat them in the oven from 177?F to 200?F untill they dry. I've heard that they will have "juice" that comes out of them, you will want to keep pouring this juice over them. Cook it untill its dried out then eat up... as for disguising the taste.. I leave that one up to you. Almost certainly Amanita, POSSIBLY yellow muscaria.

Tips on ingestion: DON'T.

Reasons why: Barf, shiver, sweat, stumble around & bump into things, barf, shit yellow liquid, shiver, sweat, shit almost clear liquid, stumble around & bump into things, barf, shit clear liquid, stumble around, fall down, pass out on the floor, have crazy dreams, wake up 18 hours later reemembering almost nothing (but feeling sorta OK), then shit liquid again .

Don't eat the yellow snow, & don't eat the yellow Amanitas either. Only the deep red ones give an "interesting" (not necessarily enjoyable) intoxication, & then only if you cook the hell outta them before before eating.

Voice of experience here. Them yellow muscarias gives me diahrreah just lookin at 'em!
