SO where do i find one? Did search and only found one. humm.. See through rubber miads with gloves. filered air intake pushing bad air out as simple as it is?
Also how much does a glove box cut down on contams? i was thinking of doing clipping transfers from colonized cakes.

I haven't used a glovebox before, so I don't know their specs and use exactly, but you might also want to consider a flowhood. You can make one for pretty cheap and it cleans an entire room in under 5 minutes? Depends on room size and blower cfm.

Here is a tek for that. This is kinda overkill with so many filters, but it's an idea at the best.
I just thought a flowhood sounds more practical due to the fact that it cleans a whole room and the glovebox can be contamed everytime you open it to do work.

glove box's are 99% sterile if you use them right, you just spray lysol in them before, then close the lid and goto work.

I'm still quite the newb, but I have had 0 contaminations on my low budget sterile techniques.
I take a card table and flip it on its top and extend the legs and set that on my kitchen counter. Then I drape a sheet over the top and build a kiddie-style tent or "fort." I wipe down the surface of the table with alcohol and then spray the shit out of the inside and all the sheet surfaces with lysol. Then I wear sterile latex gloves and a breathing mask that I stole from my dentist. Then I wipe my arms and gloves down with alcohol and spray my shirt (and my hair lol!) with lysol then step under the wall of the sheet and work in there. 0 contams on any of my transfers, liquid cultures, spore inoc's, liquid inoc's, or anything. Seems to work just fine for me.

the kiddie-style fort actually sounds like an easy, cheaper way to go about things. Esecially with such a good success rate as you have stated. And since I don't have a flowhood or glovebox yet I just might have to try that out. But I'll be building a flowhood here in a few weeks. Just waiting on the supplies.

Yea it's not ideal, but all you need are 4 supports and a sheet and it's much better than working in the open air.
