So close to being done......one last question. Pins everywhere!
    #3441751 - 12/03/04 12:48 PM (12 years, 6 days ago)

I have 12 PF cakes in a large PMP. They have started to pin quite heavily. However, all the pins have sprouted from the Plain Verm side of the cake (which was the "top" in the jar, and is now the "bottom" in the tub) they have come from everywhere, mostly the middle of the bottom though. They seem to be pushing their way outwards, and i figured they would find the light and grow upwards. However, would it be wise for me to flip the cakes over so all the pins are on top? Or let them continue to grow their way out from under the bottom?

I'm excited they are finally so close! Pinning took 9 days, just FIY.

They are sitting on some clear plastic little dishes. Basically the small tray you would put under a house plant that is in a pot. Meant to catch access water.

Is your light source only from the top? (Are the sides of your terrarium opaque?)

what im thinking is you have a reflection from that dish that is causeing them to fruit from the bottom. i would guess you to start seeing pins on top soon. how long after fully colonized did yo let them sit in the incubator?

Couple days maybe. I am also seeing pins on the top, just not as majorly or as soon. Plenty of pins otherplaces though. I guess that reflection might be doing it, on future grows i will throw a little Verm in the botton of the dish. The container is opaque, but it sits in a dark closet, so it only gets teh light from above. They should all grow their way out and be fine for now though?
