heating problems
    #3441309 - 12/03/04 08:21 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I've got a little grow room under my stairs. So far I've lined it with garbage bags that are taped together to provide a sterile moisture proof climate. I live in canada and its winter time. I have a heater and can bring the temperature up to 28C but i'm having difficulty maintaining that temp. Anyone have any tips?

ps. I'm considering insulation but that could pose aproblem for ventilation. I'll post pics soon

28C = 82.4F

Is this for fruiting or colonization?

For fruiting optimal temps are in the 70-75F or 21-24C range.
For colonization 27-30C.

Colonization. I just bought a 'Mega Shroom Kit' it comes with the tray, dome and a burlap sack of substrate and a vile of myc and everything else i need. I do not know what method this is. I havent even begun and i wont untill i have reasonable climate control. Any suggestions on keeping the right constant temperature?

Anything close to 27C-30C will do fine. Anything colder wont hurt it but it just wont grow as rapidly.

That is an okay temp range , just rember to drop a few degrees during initiation of pinning . Your colonization may be a tad slower than most that can get 86*F temps , but you will be just fine . I only use my house heating system to maintain my temps , and all does fine . Summer is when I have problems , is cheaper to heat my house verses cooling in summer .
