My jars have been growing myc good in complete darkness. I have them wrapped in a blanket with a few things set on top of them to keep the warmth in, because they sit behind my fridge. It's only been 8 days so far and they have shown a great deal of improvement. I shook them up today and I noticed a large amount of mycelium clumps (I shook the jars to spread the mycelium and to mix dry/wet rye kernels).

Maybe you could try putting something like a blanket over them. Also peeking in on them doens't help. I've been told a lot about it, but it's so hard to do! GL

First thing im gonna do is stop eyeballing and tempchecking everyday!

And I will be looking for some tubs with decent lid and which are real dark. These let light through....

Def. a good idea. You don't need 100% light but I like to make sure that there's none just cause. I posted earlier for my reasoning so i'll skip this time, good luck with ur future colonizing!
