Fleshy shrooms seem harder to dry. what am i doing wrong?
    #3436666 - 12/02/04 11:54 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Well i just harvested my big bucket of shrooms and put them ontop of a fan on low setting. its been 3 days and they still dont seem dry. They shrivelled up. but are bendy and dont seem to be getting any dryer. the stems seem rubbery. and overall the way id descrice em is as shroom jerky. At this point should i toss em into the diccesant chamber?

While these were growing i misted 1once a day and kept the temp at 74.

Thank god i now have a martha setup .

Also another question.
If i have pinning cakes in my martha. And then put frshly birthed ones in there to. do i need to change my lighting schedual. ? !2 on /12 off.
right now i have them on a few hours only a day light cause some are pinning.

They don't operate off of a phototropic cycle like plants do. I'd give the martha more light once you put your freshly birthed cakes in there to initiate pinning (see the pinning strategy that's pinned if it still is). It won't affect the ones currently going.

slice them widthwise once or twice to allow more surface area to be exposed to the air, they will dry much faster and more completly
