In the coffee project thread they talk about this. They don't work well, because they do not hold enough moisture. You might wanna try mixing some in with some verm. Maybe do the pf tek, but with coffee instead of brf. Also, you should probably mix in lime ore something, since coffee has a pf of 5. I might try a jar or 2of doing the pf tek, but with coffee.

yes somone has tried this, noodle is right they dont work too hot by themselves, but they do work, and according to this tek, (which i easily found on the shroomery's faq  ) talks specifically about using coffee beans, more specifically their shells, with soil as a substrate.  i think using coffee as a substrate would be problematic, more then it would be beneficial, and i also think all the benefits from coffee beans can be parrelled by just mixing some coffee water into your substrate, as per the coffee project thread.  read up, and let us know of any experiments you do.

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
