You don't want mashed potatoes.. pfft.

Check this out.

Cut your potatoes into small wedges, wrap them in foil, put a healthy amount of butter in there with your potatoes and be sure to use whatever you feel to be the right amount of garlic or garlic salt, then a light sprinkling of table salt and put that big log of potatoes on your grill.

Cook it until your potatoes are soft, and try to use a low heat.  The butter/garlic/salt will cook right into your potatoes and it tastes absolutely amazing!  Probably isn't too good if you need to worry about cholesterol or something, but shit, you only live once.

For mashed potatoes, just cut your potatoes into wedges, cook until soft, throw in a bowl, and beat with a mixer until they're fluffy.  You can even put in a little more milk if you like them softer or something.  Plus all mrjim's ingredients make them more appealing.

I like to cut up a potato into cubes and put it in a tupperware container.  Microwave it for 6 to 8 min and mix in butter, sour cream, ranch, cheddar cheese, bacon, and pepper.  Just like I like em

I boil my spuds with onions, drain and mash em and add milk, butter, chopped herbs and chives. Extra mature white cheddar cheese and crispy smoked bacon goes nice in this too.

Baked to Mashed:

Put in butter, milk (just a tiny bit), pepper and Mrs. Dash. Mash with a fork add cheese, bacon bits and sour cream.

For good mashed potatoes just cut them into cubes and boil them with salt water. Then add in the rest of the stuff. Always use a fork to mash them, lumpy mashed potatoes are the best.

That Nature is not simply the random flight of atoms through electromagnetic fields. Nature is not the empty, despiritualized lumpen matter that we inherit from modern physics. But it is instead a kind of intelligence, a kind of mind."

baked to mashed....

place whole garlic cloves, ( peeled )& quartered onions in a pan with olive oil & place in oven till garlic is browned lightly, drain off the oil & save for future use, it is full of flavor, make a paste out of the garlic & onion mash up the bakers, add salt & pepper, butter , sour cream, chives, and the paste to taste, should be the bomb.

Cut em up with the peel still on.  Add a little butter and a bit of milk and whatever seasonings you like.  I add a bit of mayonaisse too.  Then mash em up.  Yum yum. In the future cut and boil your taters rather than baking if you want mashed taters.  But if you just have a couple left over baked ones and want them mashed no problem.  You have me craving taters now.
