Feed your PF Cakes interveneously....ghetto style!
    #3435724 - 12/02/04 02:22 AM (12 years, 5 days ago)

Yea so i have this cake of Mazzy's and some of the veils started breaking waaaaaaay too early, when the shrooms were barely 1.5" tall.

I decided they had to be lacking water because there were so many mushies on this cake. So I decided to do something about it.

I took a straw and poked a bunch of holes with a pin about 3.5" up from the end, to make kind of like a sprinkler effect when water goes through. (I had a bunch of pix for this for a mini-tek but my dumbass erased them).

I then took a screwdriver and poked a hole directly downthru the center of my cake. I then jammed the straw in there, then pulled it out again to remove any stuff that got clogged then put it back in the cake.

I then loaded a syringe with distilled water, and innoc'ed it right into the straw. Wah-la! The straw holds a decent amount of water that gets fed to your cake slowly, just make sure the straw is airtight in there or it will leak out. I inject the straw with water up to 3-4 times per day. Definitely seems like it's been paying off.

sam doesn't do this and he gets better yields than that. i'm sure you've seen his cakes.

i'm still not knocking it, and am considering trying it.

Shitty I figured someone else probably did something similar as there's not really any genius engineering involved.  :nut:
