Help identifying a mushrrom!
    #3435111 - 12/01/04 11:35 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

If anybody can help identify if this is a good witch, or a bad witch.. that'd be great!-
I picked her off a tree stump in the NW area in the corner by the astoria bay. I dont have a picture of the trunk, but it wasnt mossy, dark and very damp by the recent rain. The mushrooms were growing with almost 90 degree turn in the stems near the base. The cap is yellowish carmel color - the tip almost orangeish caramel. The spore print is purplish. The stem, is kinda a light creamish brown and the gills are whitish gray. here are some pics:

Any help is appreciated!! Thanx!!

New to this ID'ing stuff, but looks like a hypholoma fasciculare.

Hey dynamite girl.

Those are interesting. Not active.

It's a little hard to discern the color of that spore print. If you let it sit a little longer you could probably get a darker print.

Purple brown spores in that habitat seem to indicate Psathyrella or  Naematoloma. Yours look more like Psathyrellas.

Naematoloma fasciculare and Hypholoma fasciculare are the same mushroom. It is a distinct possibility. The color seems off to me though, but that may be due to the rain.

No, I disagree. Those don't look like hypholoma fasciculare at all to me. The caps are too light and don't have a 'fsciculare'-structure and the stems don't match my fasciculare finds.

tntelle, I think you've got some kind of psathyrella here.

Yeah, I noticed that the cap wasn't like a fasciculare cap. :'[ I suck at life!
