is coconut substrate the same as coco coir, maybe someone wants to give me some casing layer recipes???

thats what coca coir looks like, no its not the same as coconut.

You can get coca coir at Petco if you have one near where you are. It comes in brick form and expands when you add water. I have used 70% coca coir and 30% vermiculite. It has worked very well. You can get Vermiculite at most garden stores like Agway. Hope that helps. :laugh:

you can also get coco-coir blocks at most indoor grow centers for much cheaper then at Petco. i got a brick twice as large for half the price at the nearest indoor store. its a 30 minute drive, but well worth it.
