I think my casing surface is matted. deep scratch or not.

My fogger was on too long a week and a half ago. And since then my casing surface got dry when I was out of town for thanksgiving, so I sprayed the surface directly. I think I may have matted down my mycelium. It will not start pinning. The hole surface is not covered and there are brilliant spots of mycelium showing, but there are no longer strands sticking in the air. They are matted down do I need to deep scratch.

Please some advice from the pro's. This is my third attempt. First attemp worked, second failed, so it will be frustrating to say the least if this fails. I am using popcorn. I am thinking off taking one of my casings and breaking it up and using as spawn on straw. What do you think.

What kind of chamber, temps, how much air exchange? I ask cause I spray the shit out of my casings and they usually start to pin in 6 to 10 days

Its a large chamber,I think a 95 gallon. There is a air pump that runs constantly, the air pump runs through a jar with a fogger in it. The fogger comes on 5 minites every 3 hours and blows fog in my terrium. The rest of the time it is just fresh air being pumped in.I fan it out about every 12 hours. Temps are around 80 degrees.

IME PmPs are poor containers for casings. You would be better off to find another fruiting chamber for your casings like a martha setup.

I support this with the fact that casings take up much of the humidification surface and make it difficult for air and humidity to diffuse properly. I have yet to successfully pin a casing in such a chamber.

I may just be bad with PmPs though. Your call.

screw building a hole new chamber just for caseings, just buy a 3 dollar plastic rack at wal mart (i was looking at them today) and put the casing on it so your air bubbles will get around normal.
