The problem with using a flawed scientific model for an abstract analogy is that one tries to pidgeonhole the entire abstract concept and it's relatives into corresponding (and flawed) scientific constructs. By not differentiating between the combination of pigments and the combination of different frequencies of light you are creating a connection that in the true scientific model doesn't exist.

In other words, if I could relate the concept of monotheism to the pythagorean theorem, a^2 + b^2 = c^2 , maybe we could draw something from this since we are familiar with the mathematical formula. If I relate it to a^2 + strawbale =c^2, who gives a fat fuck? why bother with the analogy. Then you have to start shoehorning sin/redemption or Jesus into this strawbale, and it doesn't quite work. Square peg, Round hole, even if you force it, everyone thinks you are retarded.

Oh, and what does darkness mean to me? The all encompasing scope of reality, what our brains can only have hinted to them. While people in this thread discuss mixing paint, known to them because of reflected light (400-700 nm) they are bombarded by radiation unknown to the human senses. A range on the atomic spectra a fraction of a fraction of a percent. It just happens to be the one our meager eyes pick up on. Vastness. The universe is virtually dark. Just as an atom's proton, when the electron cloud is enlarged to the size of a skyscraper, would be represented by a speck of dust, the illusion, of vastly vastly empty space, that constitutes our material makeup---- The universe is nearly dark. If we could view it from the outside, like a distant satalite picture of the US, we may not even see the light of stars. total Darkness holds an inherent illusion- No vaccum can ever exist, particles are continually coming in and out of existance in any part of space. On a more spiritual level? Darkness represents a world unbeknownst to most. New predators become active. The sky is ruled by the moon. night - Chaotic, Fertile.

Great reply. I had to let it go cos I couldn't articulate a response but you did it for me. You said what I couldn't think of.

So you two mean to tell me that when you start to brain storm, and theorise, and wonder and get caught up in thought streams, just for the adventure of going places in thought with no objective other then seeing where you end up(all where its totally safe) you follow rules?

hum. made me think darkness, it is not absorbing, it reflecting only a small fraction of 'incident light'.
the absorbing part could be,

haha, again lost my thoughts, wonder it keep happening ;D

How I adore you! :heartpump:

Hot topic in the quiets of my mind too. Why do ya think? I think I want to dispell it, ya know take it apart so I can play with the pieces and see what can be made of them. First, they gotta be cooled down and isolated.

Where will mystery come from if we manage? Do we want mystery in our lives? What wil we do without codes to crack and problems to solve and things that go bump in the night?

Probably start wiping our asses before we take a dump. LOL

You missed my point...I thought is was quite obvious. Oh well not everyone get's everything.

hue I wasn't replying to you. I have no idea how you thought i was except maybe my post came after yours.

My point was, if you are using darkness as a metaphor, and you are exploring the properties of darkness and their corresponding concepts in your metaphor, you should make sure you get the properties right. Otherwise the metaphor loses power and becomes arbitrary.

If you were reading Orwell's animal farm, where the barnyard animals represent historical communist figures, and you thought Rush Limbaugh was an animal on a farm so you used him in the allegory, this would help noone else understand what you are talking about anymore than assigning random correspondences to your metaphor.

Not if two farmers familiar with the character nature of the different animals were using the allegories to discuss politians.

What is it that evades you about a handful of us being able to understand each other and even roll off where the allegories do with ease individually?

Where they roll off is where it starts to get good. The allegories are just launching pads. It was just about to go beyond paradox when the flow was cut.

Have you experienced being on the same wave length of thought with someone and traveling it with them? It doesn't take many words to keep pace once you lock in harmony.

Again I will ask you, do you brainstorm, wonder, theorise, go along with thought stream flows with no set objective or destination in mind, while in the saftey of thought and use RULES while there?
