I got the first steps on what to do with the jars, etc innoculating, etc, but the once the jar is 100 percent colonized im really lost. This may be the most obvious question as to what to do, but I really don't get it. Do you just take the cake out with your hands and put it in your grow chamber? How is casing different? with casing you crumble the cake up and spread it around? how thick? I need help:)

"Another idea is to incorporate some natural flora into your terrarium, such as a dedicated tray of rye grass that is just there to grow and regulate your atmosphere for you." this means put some plants in the chamber to start converting that co2 to oxygen?

Yea, but I would omit this the first time. You can allways experiment at later growing attempts.

Master growing THIS before introducing PLANTS into yoru terrarium. Oxygen/CO2 transfers are accomplished by FANNING.The monkeys suggest to listen to Anno and learn by doing. Peace

The plants would 100% solve the CO2 disposal problem, as long as you have a decent fluorescent light so the plant can photosynthesize and eat co2 and fart O2, and you don't develop any insect problems. But I guess it's better to stick to a supremely simple setup in the beginning, till one knows one's doing.--D --D --D --D

You would need a descent amount of plants to do this effectively. Also, you have a GREATER chance of developing contamination and insect problems with PLANTS in your terrarium.Remember plants use fungi ,that aren't exactly benificial for our type of fungus, to help them grow. Some soil companies add fungi to potting soils. "souns like your trying to teach Bruce Lee Kung-Fu" Drool Donkey Island

You could grow some nice little ferns or something using 100% coir as soil, that would take care of the contams that are attracted to traditional 'dirt'.

Ferns reproduce by spores also, so you may end up with fern spores on your sporeprints if planning on taking prints.

How about clovers or MINT mmmm that would be fresh. But would the fern spores interfere with the mushroom enough to really stop anything from fruiting or innoculating?
