I dont think there is, I have asked here before a mont ago.

BUT someone has a thread and he is growing mushrooms on a substitute called polyacrylamide crystals. He seems to get good results with it, but it is too chemical for me. When heated it can be hazardous for health.

But do some research on it!

I thought that peat moss and coco coir were substitutes for each other mixed with vermiculite? I'm a newb so correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just asking based on what I have read and seen.

I get my vermiculite at a pet shop. Perhaps if you tell us which country, someone could point you in the right direction.

true but just like peat moss can be used instead of coco coir, people look for alternatives for vermiculite as well.

Verm is just used for its water retension qualities, I'm sure that it can be substituted for.
