whats yr opion on best time to shroom

b/c ive tryed all times from 11-2am nromally and hardly find any and then i went at 7am and found alot, but i just like to know times other people go and are sucessfull

If you have the field to yourself, it really doesn't matter. Once they pop up, they ain't going anywheres for a copuple days!

But if you are in a place where other pickers may come along, there is an old saying for you...'The early bird gets the worm'.

AN interesting thought Capt. Max,

They ain't going anywahere for a couple of days.

Actually they can stay there for several dasy to a few weeks depending on the kind of mushroom, their physical condition and environmental habitat.

For example, there is a 21 day manure pile at my site inthe mushroom cultivation section. However I have seen a crop of P. cyanescens stay dormant for three weeks before.

have a shroomy day.

Anytime is fine for picking.

You can pick all the shrooms because they are waiting for you to pick them.

Have a shroomy day and may all of your days be shroomy.

I just started looking around in fields and stuff, and this is what I got from common sense, I like to look around in the early morning because the sun is never at its zenith or descending from its zenith, there is only pure morning light which won't create any "glare" on the grass, and force you to squint, and plus its cooler in the morning too.

I like to get them as early as possible after they have fruited. This is for the sole purpose of beating the bugs to them. I hate maggot filled mushrooms or ones that have been eaten by insects or worms.

I'm with wombat. Thats why I like to take them back and wash them off. I had a few specimens that I had picked Sunday, laying out on my desk. When I picked them up I found a couple maggots (or something) oozing around on the desk.
