Cake Method

I'm planning on doing a large container of 1/4 pint jars and i would like to knwo which way is better. Should i just put the cakes ontop of the wet perilite or should I put them on a pan and put that ontop of the perilite?

Put them on top of a lid or something to keep them off the wet perlite.
The shrooms will soak up too much moisture and become overly wet if sat directly on the perlite.

So if I put them on a baking sheet and set that ontop of the perilite and leave 1 inch all around the edge for condensationg to run down? That should work?

In fact it would be better if it were something like a cake rack...the one that is like a grill...if you use a baking sheet you may have problems keeping the humidity up because the surface area of the perlite will be dramatically reduced

cool, we have screen with 1/4 inch squares...that will work well :)
