What should I do?

There is this little family of stray kittens that live around the office building at the end of my block, and everyday I feed them and make sure they're doing alright. Even though I'm in Arizona it is starting to get pretty cold at night and I bet those cats are freezing. I wish I could give them a home but I have no idea how to do it. It makes me sad to see them out in the cold, and what is worse is that I will be leaving here in a couple months and there will be nobody to take care of them. What can I do?

Trust me, they aren't freezing. Animals know how to take care of themselves. We (humans) tend to look at things from our perspective of being so helpless against the elements.
However, they may be somewhat dependant on you for food if you feed them every day. Once you leave they could suffer some hardship as their reliable food source disappears.
But in any case, you should gather them up and get them to an animal shelter. If left to their own designs they will just continue to breed in the wild thus contibuting to the problem of stray animals. If you are opposed to turning them in to a shelter then fork out the $25 (or thereabouts) apiece and get them fixed before returning them to their "home" in the alley.

Exactly...wise words.
I definitely wouldn't worry about them freezing to death in Arizona. If they can survive the winter here, (Alberta) I'm pretty sure they can survive there.

How do I get them to a shelter? Should I try to grab them? I called around but all I found was a company that rents humane traps at $100 a day and I would have 5-6 of them to catch outside and office building.

Are they not used to you? You have been feeding them regularly, right? It could be tricky trying to trap all of them if they won't come close enough to just pet them, pick them up, and stick them in a box/kennell. Try to bring some really strong smelling foods and lure them close to you until they get used to you. Once they let you pet them you've got 'em. If you can't pick them up then you'll have to trap them. And as I said, that could get tricky.
Unfortunately, all this may take some time.
You could always call animal control. They will round them up. But they will also deposit them at a facility where their ultimate fate may be a gas chamber.
Tough decision.

Do you not have an animal shelter there? Somewhere that you can adopt pets for a nominal fee...
Catching them shouldn't be too hard if they are just kittens...lure them out with food...and make sure you are wearing gloves.

They know me, and they will get reasonably close to me but they are easily startled and I've never been able to pet them. I've been feeding them for 4-5 months so they aren't afraid of me, but sudden movements make them run away. Most of them are a little bigger now, probobly about 6 months old (so technically not really kittens), but a couple are still tiny.
