Grow Bags
    #3423855 - 11/29/04 06:17 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

I just puchased a grow bag that I am going to inject with the orissa india strain of cubensis and I was wondering if I could rest the bag on its side while the fungus is growing. Would it hurt or suspend the growth of mycilium (sorry about spelling) or be a huge detrament while they are pinning. Please get back to me with any kind of response...actually if it had to do with the topic subject that would be great.

I don't claim to know much about grow bags but i would guess it wouldn't hamper it at all. With jars you have to often times flip it over and around to get full colonization.

Don't take my word as full truth, wait till someone who's more experienced than me let you know for sure.

I always wondered if those bags were any good. How much of a yield can one expect from one bag?

Wow that bag seemed like it was an okay producer. I still havent heard any difinitive statements about how the bag should sit. Really would like to know if the mushies will die if I lie the bag on its side.

keep the filter patch up so the wet substrate inside doesn't get it wet. other than that, happy shrooming!

i have mine and tehy ggrow every where on the botoom of the bag and the sides so i dont think it will matter, i would not crumble them since i did with one bag and it just isnt doing anything, also im not sure u can do this but after they are fully colonized i would take the cake out and place it somewhere so the shroms can grow normaly and not be confined to the bag, once u see pins i guess, is this wise?
