Reassurance
    #3421525 - 11/28/04 10:47 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

Well I guess my friend is just looking for some reassurance as the title says. My friend was in the middle of his first fruiting ever. He is doing casings of 60/40 coir/verm with pf tek cakes. The shrooms were growing very well and looked promising but he had to go out of state for 2 days. Upon coming home he found his shrooms hadn't grown very much and seem to be haulting at this point. He would like to be able to pin the dissapointment on the lack of air exchange for 48 hours. This sound like a definite possibility to you fellas? In that case, with the problem corrected, the second and third flushes should go well.

Thanks for the quick peace of mind. Nope there is no rotting and there is still minimal growth. Also some of the smaller pins recovered. My friend has fanned every hour all day to try and revive them.

Well it sounds like good stuff. Be careful not to fan to much b/c you'll alter the environment a lot, it might seem like a good idea at first but fanning for ahile the first time should suffice. Well Gl with it, later

switch that to every 4 hours or so, you want the humidity to get back to normal and the casings won't use all the o2 up that fast.

fanning every hour = too much evaporation = overlay = suck
