A good online source for organic fertilizer like LLama manure, Lion manure, etc? Help is appreciated!

I dont think you'd be wanting to use lion manure. If you haven't already you could try www.zoodoo.com. Its not manure but its compost from elephants and rhinos and lamas and the like. If you don't like the prices you could always take a trip to the local zoo. I'm sure they would love to sell you some of their shit.
Tired of pimping yourself on the corner to afford spores? Well throw out that red dress and go to the FSR, for spores even you can afford.

Check to see if there is a Petting Zoo near you. Chances are they will let you clean out a couple stalls and let you keep anything you clean no charge.

Check your local animal assholes. (sorry had to do it!  )Zoodoo is the best online i thing for the type of manure you'r looking for. They also have these cool "dung buddies" which are made out of GYPSUM and PRESSURE TREATED manure... hey ralph thanx! I know you use this ZooDoo frequently so i was wondering if you ever used these "dung Buddies" crushed up instead of regular 'ol gypsum??? Oh almost forgot ... for althose people for whom it's not a problem to get "good" store bought manure i have a good company for you ... they are called VA-LIFE. They make this awsome "farm manure" which is a mix of horse,cow, and sheep poo! If your local green-house suppplier doesn't have it make sure you ask... it's PH is 2-1-2... It works wonders .... peace

Thats an awesome idea, you could get the primo grainfed shit. Im in NYC and the horses in Central Park leave big healthy pies all over the road. Im thinking of using that, with grain spawn.

Try to stay away from "fresh" horse poo since it's still to "hot" (the PH) to use succesfuly. I'd collect it and let it sit in a nice cool spot somewhere with lots of shade. I know this may be hard to find in NYC. Another suggestion for citizens of Gotham would be to actualy go to the STABLES where these horses are kept(easy to find)... peace

The thing with the fire escape , if you put it in the tupperware on the fire escape it's gonna get HOT and that shit is gonna start making flies and all types of bugs and funky smells right outside your window (and your fellow apartment dwellers). So the choice is yours.
Basicly you dont want the really light colored horse shit. That means it's fresh. If you ever end up going to the stables look around at the shit (i bet you never thought you'd be going to the stables to look at the shit hu??? ) the darkest colored piles are the best. That's the color your looking for.

I wasnt thinking.. abox of FRESH crap on my fireescape chuckle chuckle what WOULD the neighbors think!? There are fresh pies in the park but there's mostly the old ones that have been sitting around for awhile and they look like spongy straw filled mud cakes. What should the ph level be? I could get some test strips at a pharmacy i guess. Thanks

sounds perfect. the ph strips sound like a fun experiment too! i'm not sure of the EXACT ph since i dont really use stuff that i would have to worry about ph levels. I use this manure that has 2-1-2 ph and it works great. so i guess the ph should be somewhere around there. I also know there are threads out there that talk about ph (i dont think specificaly tho) but have fun searching for that!

calm down pastures why are you getting so defensive, he simply corrected you, chill out. N-P-K are the ratios of the three main plant nutrients, thats what the three digits seperated by a dash stand for. PH has to do with the number of free ions, either positive(low ph) or negative(high ph), a ph of seven has no free ions. Try to get a neutral ph, which is around 7. I have no experience with the ph of manure, I would say just try, it should work as long as you don't get stuff hanging out of the horses ass.

I know enough about Ph to get by, i should've paid more attention in chemistry class. I have grown enough assorted green plants to know what N-P-K ratios are for. Yeah.. ph is from base to acid, 1 ---->14 and I want the neutral shit that isn't fresh from the horse's bowels, it airs out and reaches a level neutral harmonic ph of 7. I knew about the other thing like nitrogen etc. levels, I am a little stoned so im not questioning what I hear im just like OKAY! It's all good.

The main concern with using fresh manure that hasn't decomposed any is there is alot of ammonia left in it, which will inhibit growth of anything.

Which is exactly what happened to dude's bag of Natures Pride dehydrated manure. It smelled of ammonia right out of the bag, after pasteurisation it smelled 10 times worse... eeeecccchhhhh....
Tried spawning it and nothing grew.
dude found some new stuff he says looks great tho.

You guys know your "shit" doncha? Already been to the Central Park Zoo last week, asked them if they had any cows in the petting zoo and since they did I asked this young woman if she would mind collecting a bag of cow shit for me and I would be by the next day to pick it up, I swear this is true I often walk through the park on my way back from the union hall. Needless to say this particular lady wasnt too thrilled with "my idea". I think im gonna try someone in maintenance next.
As for the horse shit if you really want that the hell with picking it off the ground (there really isnt as much as you think lying around the park, they clean that shit up pretty quickly these days) just walk over to 59th St. where all the carriages are and help yourself to those big, smelly baskets right under that big ole horses ass..lol
