    #3419980 - 11/28/04 05:33 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

i need to know what these things are called that are on the leaves of some succlents. they're tiny (about 1mm) and are round-oval shape usually. they fall off and produce new plants and are in essence the plants 'seed'. sometimes they will even begin growing roots while still attached to the mother plant. a name or link would be very extremly super apperciated. i can't find it in my text and goggle can't anwser paragraph long questions. i need the name for a project i'm doing due tuesday. tytytyty.

You're right."plantlet formation"
I found no other word or phrase for it.
I cross referenced Kalanchoe and reproduction in Google.

Plants with asexual reproduction have no gamete fusion. They reproduce by mitosis which allows a new genetically identical individual to be reproduced. Genetic variation is not allowed in asexual reproduction, but reproducing is guaranteed. There are different types of asexual reproduction which include: Binary Fission, Multiple Fission, Budding, Gemmulation, and Fragmentation.

I found that, but still the only term I can find is plantlet. I thought it would be somethingocete or whatever, but IDK.
