dung in oven

hi. i was just wondering if it smells really bad when you bake dung. also would it be ok at add whole brown rice to a substrate without grinding or cooking it? i already added some uncooked br to some jars and i was hoping it would be ok since i am leaving the jars on the shelf for a week before i inoculate. would that allow the rice to become less dense and absorb some water?

When you bake dung it gives off a strange smell but it isnt very strong. No it doesnt smell really bad. I think you are asking contamination with the uncooked brown rice.

I agree. I just baked some poop my self. I could only find the freshies in the forest. So I thought it would reek. It wasn't to bad though.

thanks for the input. so if contamination is caused by the uncooked brown rice, when would i most likely see the contam? would it appear in the jar or after it is cased? any suggestions about how to get the highest yeild possible from these jars(by preventing contams from spreding...ect). thanks!
