sterilizing syringes

PF tek says that you're supposed to wrap the needle and the syringe in tin foil and boil it for an hour....it seems to me that doing this would melt the plastic. has anyone done this before?

You can even pressure cook most types of syringes (not the ones without the black rubber thnigy on the plunger). They won't melt or warp. 20 minutes does the trick

Even the ones with the rubber plunger won?t be harmed in my experience.

The ones I use are made of PP, if they are made of PE (I don?t know if this is the case sometimes) then they might not be so heat resistant.

I have never had problems with melting syringes. I jsut boil for like 20 minutes, and then I suck up some boiling water... squirt it out and do it again. never fails.

I've never had any problem re-sterilizing used syringes, just by tossing them in the pc for a few minutes.
Make sure your hands are clean when re-assembling, that is the main concern!
