First Time Tips?

Hey guys, I'm from Connecticut and I'm very new to the shroom scene. Last night i stumbled onto this site and I spent some time wandering through it. So today I'm back and I would like to know what I should look for when I'm looking for good shrooms and also where i should look (we have lots of farms in CT, so I guess those would be good places to start, cow shit and such). I read some other posts and instructions, and I suppose I'm looking for mushrooms that have a blue spore print (and although i did read the directions on this, I do not know how to take a spore print), that have bluish gills (which I assume are the ridges under the head of a mushroom) and that bruise a bluish color. If anyone has any corrections or additional suggestions I would appreciate them greatly. Also, if I find some shrooms that look to be good candidates, would I be able to post pics of them here for a better opinion other than my own?
Oh one more thing, for a first time trip, how much should i take? there seem to be different levels to trips, like 1,2,3,4 and 5? OK, now I'm done, thanks for bearing with me.

That's always my first recommendation to newbie hunters and then when you want to look at something else, mushroom John's site : http://mjshroomer.yage.net/index2.html and the shroomery: www.shroomery.com and there's another good site: http://www.fanaticus.com/pf-tek.htm that you should look at about spore printing and cultivation etc.

You should check them out, they provide answers to most of your quesions. I don't know what your looking for but if your looking for Psilocybe cubensis, its spore print is prupley black, if your looking for Copelandia cyanescens it's je black.

Also, people always post there pics here to get IDed.

I personally have not taken shrooms, but this is what I can tell you..
(Don't take my exact word for it, but this is what I have gathered through semi-research

Yes, you can post pictures of what you find for people to identify, I believe the forum is called "Hunting".

Most people suggest a level 1 or 2 trip. Possibly 3, because you're not sure how you'll be affected by them, and you shouldn't just dive right in, you should work your way up.

As for the gill color and bruising, You're heading in the right direction,but I'm not positive "mushrooms" are the only kind that do that.
