This is my Country
    #3409615 - 11/25/04 08:13 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

And I love it.

The United States of America is the greatest nation on the planet. I get a little tired of all my fellow country men saying otherwise. All you people that live outside the US. I can understand your pains with us. :smirk:

We are arrogant and greedy. But that has been the qualities of every nation that was the top dog thru out the history of Mankind.

So what, we are in a war. We need the oil. We need the bases in the middle east. We are doing the right thing.

I am not afraid to say I love the USA.
I am not afraid to say I support my Government

Maybe I am the only patriot here but, I LOVE MY COUNTRY

Mankind is a war machine and I for one a very glad I belong to the best war maker and winner.

War sucks but losing a war sucks more. I for one hope we take over the globe

yeah take over the globe for what purpose? pride gets the best of people and they get a jackdick i'm better than you complex, like you, as if they had anything to do with it besides being born here.

i need money. i have an ak. you have money. i go into your house and take your money and kill you and your children. cool?

the greatest nations always fall at somepoint and when that happens i'd like to think we'd be in somewhat good standing with foriegn governments.

I bet you're over 30.

I also Like our country even though I disagree with a lot, I like this country becasue I can speak up about what I disagree with and not be killed, we have money here and most people are pretty well off. also the gov. is completly paying my way through college and then some. we have a lot here and people don't realize it. i used to be one of those until i started making friends with a lot of international students from vietnam, niger, equador, yugoslavia ect. and had discussions about how it was back home.

Yeah I am 36 and what the fuck does that have to do with anything? I really don't need your personal attack on me.

The reasons we need to take over the globe are obvious.

We need the resources
We need the rest of the world to be submissive

Once that is done then we can work on a complete world economy.

I agree that all Nations so far have fallen. But Rome was around for a very very long time. And they didn't have the communications we have today. If they did, believe me you that, We would all be Romans.

So I think the time has come for a Nation to do what has not been done before.

I am not trying to say that we are a bunch of devils bent on destroying the world.

But I am smart enough to realize that Mankind is on the path to one world Government.

Ubtil we can not be so dependent on Oil. Then we need to control the market. Despite the take over of the middle east.

They will not allow us to take control of the market..the corporations will continue to put out smaller business, the pharmaceutical industry will keep getting people hooked on legal speed, the government will keep molding their new bills to incrementally bring the desired system into place. They really seem to enjoy focusing their attention on ensuring the sustenance of this system in which our dependance on them exists, and they are probably not about to want to losen their grip on us very easilly. Passively going along with their desired system conscious of the fact that it is falling into place around you everyday thinking you are going to be safe if you go along with it sounds like some pretty hypocritical thinking imo..

Well I am not going to get off track from my first statement in this thread.

I am just saying I love the US and I will always support my country.

Right or wrong I stand by it.

There are a lot of things my Goverenment does that really pisses me off. But so do my kids but I don't stab them in the back.

The federal government is not America.

If you were a true patriot shouldn't you be in the least concerned about the direction this country is headed considering all the threats they have been posing on a majority of the populations basic rights?

I'm sorry, but this is one of the stupidest, most irresponsible, and most frightening statements I have ever read at this forum...

just a genral observation, how does that qualify as an attack? What does it have to do with anything? It shows evolution in progress. Slavery used to be the norm in the south, women used not have a voice ect. and you think we should force the world to do things our way. It makes me glad that i was right in the sence that the younger generation seems to be learning from the mistakes of the older but sad that the older are the ones with the power.

Quote:

We need the resources

so forcefully taking over the world is the best option? why not pour the billions of dollars used for war towards research so we are not so dependant on oil?

Quote:

We need the rest of the world to be submissive

Why? Are we right and everybody else wrong? pretty ignorant statement.

Every nations leaders would probably love complete control of the planet and it's economy. Do you think all the other nations would sit back and let us take it? Sooner or later they will realize if they work together they can take us out of the picture since we seem to be pissing everyone off that's getting more and more likely.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." --Theodore Roosevelt

I'm sure the words president and government are interchangable in that quote.

Like I said this place is full of people who do not support their Country.

What is wrong with standing behind something you love thru the good and bad? Thru the right and wrong choices?

That is the biggest problem with most people inder 25 these days. You have no backbone only ideas of how it should be.

Standing by the things that are important are all we have. MY COUNTRY IS VERY INMPORTANT TO ME. Right or wrong.

My country is very important to me, as well. The America that spawned Walt Whitman - the America that spawned Thoreau - the America that created Jazz music - there have been many great things that have come out of this country. In fact, I believe that this country is so important that I don't want it's good-virtue tarnished by money-grubbing fundamentalists with imperial-fantasies. The vision of America as a beacon of peace, democracy, freedom, liberty, etc - this is the vision of America I hope is eventually realized. Not the current vision of America as a tyrant with no concern for the rest of the world (not to mention the multitudes of poor and dis-enfranchised within her own borders!). Would you have supported slavery when it was the status-quo? I certainly hope not. It is out of my love for this land (and, more-so, my love for the Earth) that I dedicate myself to the creation of a sustainable future.
