Calea Zacatechichi
    #3409487 - 11/25/04 09:42 PM (12 years, 12 days ago)

When do you know that the seeds are mature? It looks like the seeds look kind of like grass seed. My plany is flowering right now. I'll hook some of you up when it seeds if anyone wants some p.m. me.

From what I've read the seeds should look like little black needles with hairs at the ends. I'm not really sure how to tell if they are mature or not though.
How much seed do you have?? I wouldn't mind trying my hand at growing this plant, but I've read that it is very difficult to grow from seed.

OMG I would LOVE a couple Calea seeds if you can spare them. I've tried using this herb before and the results were a bit disappointing but now that I'm a bit more experienced in inducing lucid dreams it would be real cool to try again.

I couldn't find any growing info on Google even...

Maybe it's just a well guarded secret for the sake of ethno economics

I have some calea which are flowering now too. The calea seed I bought never germinated. It's kind of a racket like stevia seed which never germs either. Fresh seed might germ. Calea likes sun and don't let it dry out. I believe it can take cold ok. Wait until the seed pods are mature and come off easily.

Send me a digital camera and I would love to. Some one mentioned that they can stand the cold. I found it interesting that my caapi plant seems to be more cold hardy than the Calea. Anyways I will send seeds ti everyone who expressed intrest. Be patient I don't know when they will be ready. I don't expect anything in return. Anyways though, have a nice night.

i ordered some calea from iamshaman.com and i got to say this stuff is worse than drinking everclear .. anyone have any suggestions ?.. but it sure as hell worked. my dream last night goes something like this... i went to terrance mckennas house.. and found all of these things and was looking through his photobooks of all of his adventures and the photos were so clear and real. and his family came home unexpectedly and i had crazy conversations with them .. all kinds of shit .and he had plants all around his house and i was trying to identify them. and his niece was talking about crazy shit .. little blonde haired girl.. i woke up and the dream was so real i could have sworn that i could have found the damn place( it was in my neighborhood)the way i explained it does not much justice.. it was very lucid and vivid and very insightful

I either smoke it or boil a good bit of it and then cook it down to a paste and cap it.

I like smoking a nice size cigarette of it before I go to sleep some nights. It's not too bad as a smoke, and IMO it has helped my lucid dreaming capabilities. I tried the tea, but once was enough with that stuff.

Great stuff calea, I traded a small p semilanceata print or two and got almost 2 ounces !  Works great if I cap it and smoke a bit before sleep.  More enhancement of the Detail in the dream world than invoking lucidity for me anyway.

Ive got a large bag of wild lettuce that I harvested this summer and cured, its a pleasant smoke (in a way) but dream-wise it hasn't had any profound effects.

The calea has been shared between a few freinds who've all had enjoyable detail rich colourful dreams of great vividity with one friend becoming fully lucid for the first time.

Hi, sorry for the laaaaate reply.  I had a pleasant time with two crammed "00" caps and smoking a cigarette of calea, my friends have had on and off good/nothing at all experiences with 2 also.  Though 4 is probably a good start if you have good calea

If you're waiting on a PM reply don't worry I have taken a number of prints and should have these ready this week for trades/post, if you're interested in a print PM me and I'll work through them in order I can offer prints of the early fruiting spot that seems to start in July through to mid Oct and prints from specimens in my regular spots that tend to fruit later during the regular fungi season in the UK.

My plant is in flower right now. It'll probably be a bit longer before the seeds are done. I tried smoking just some of the flowers. It was nice. I normally don't get a whole hell of a lot from smoking just the leaves dream-wise. Leaves or flowers are nice because they kill the tension when I have no pot.
