I'm not sure if just spraying some spores down will work but if you have like spent casings or cakes or something if you bury em it's quite possible they'll grow next year.

I was just wondering if the quote was true. Thanks for your input. I didnt know if there were experienced out door growers. Living in Ga, we have a great environment to grow outdoors. Not sure if i get you on the burying though.

I don't have experience either. But from what i've read you can take used up cakes or casings and make an outdoor bed by burying them with some straw or poo or maybe even without? I just started so im not gonna say that anything im saying is absolutely true. Right now things here are a little cold for fruiting but my guess would be by spring the mycelium might still be around in the ground so by spring time they can fruit.

well, its worth a shot. I have looked all over the net and havent really found a lot of outdoor growing tips for growing specific mushrooms outside. I wasnt aware that you had to use a pre made cakes or casings. Guess it'll be an experiment.

Just spreading spores around isn't going to do any good. You will want to take either contaminated or spent cakes/casings, and spawn them to poo/straw in an outdoor bed. It can and def. does work. Although not every time. Good luck.
