who will replace Tony Blair?.. Michael Howard (conservative)
France... Nicholas Sarkozy (very religious, and supporter of America)
Germany.... Angela Merkel ( christian right)
before president bush leaves office he may well sit down at a summit with a conservative prime minister of Britain , pro American president of France, and social conservative chancellor of Germany. the future looks bright!!!

Yes, but your forgetting America's next leader. If John McCain runs again, we have a birght outlook, as far as religion controlling our government. He has condemned the speakings of ultra-right wing christian conservatists such as Bob Jones, saying they should not control our society. The two front runners in the conservative party are generally moderate, the BBC refers to Guiliani as bi-partisian, not recognizing him as a republican. Btw, I'm assuming the democrats aren't going to win, especially if Hilary is the nominee. This blows. No America is going to vote a Democratic Women into office. No offence to the oppisite gender, it just ain't gonna happen...

I doubt the Conservative will win the next general election. They may cut into Labours majority with their pledges on crime and immigration but its going to be another 4 years at least before people view them as a real alternative to Labour.
Tony will lead Labour to another election victory then step aside, probably in the first or second year of his third term, for Alan Milburn..

That would seem like an accurate assessment. The Conservatives have not put forward a valid alternative to Labour, and Labour have not done quite enough to piss people off yet.
The problem for the Conservatives is that they are finding it difficult to differentiate themselves, not to mention the internal fighting. Labour has quite successfully colonized the political center right, leaving them little of their traditional campaign ground.
The conservatives would get my vote if they could convince me they would not fuck things up like they did last time, and adopted a more libertarian (small l) stance as opposed to Labour nannying, and rabid Blunketism.
Tony will lead Labour to another election victory then step aside, probably in the first or second year of his third term, for Alan Milburn..
I would second that bet, no way is Gordon Brown going to end up as PM.

My question to you is how conservative are the conservatives in Europe? I dont know much about their politics, but from what I do know it seems like your conservatives are our moderates. Anyway, I would love to know how your conservatives present themselves and what their views are.

Blair has shifted the party sufficiently enough that conservatives are already running the UK. Blair is like Clinton sans the blue dress. I like him and hope he retains control.

I think in the next elections in Denmark, the social democrats will become the "majority" party (although with the way that the Danish political system works, it is only through coalitions that any party becomes the "majority") - replacing Venstre (literally translated, it means "Left", but they are a quite centrist party) Statsminister Anders Fogh Rasmussen. They were the biggest winners in the EU parliament elections - and while they are a bit too "wishy-washy" for me, they certainly won't support the United States to the extent that Fogh has...
As to how conservative are the conservatives in Europe? Well it varies country to country, and party to party. Many of the more conservative parties have very xenophobic policies - with a main point being anti-immigration. For example, den Dansk Folkeparti (the Danish People's Party) ran this advertisment in many major Danish newspapers in 2002 (click on it for the full-size PDF)
The caption reads: Can this man also receive asylum in Denmark?
Other than anti-immigration, there are many anti-EU parties in most european counties (Dansk Folkeparti is completely against the EU as well). However, these parties never tend to have much support - enough to assure them one or two seats in parliament, but most of the more centrist conservative parties refuse to form alliances with them, out of fear of being labeled as racist. I'm not sure about many other European countries, but I know that Sweden and Norway have very similar parties to the Dansk Folkeparti, and they have about the same amount of influence. In France, I guess that LePen's National Front would be a similar party... a common thread of all these parties is their belief that "we are not, and never have been, a country of immigrants" - a common saying of Dansk Folkeparti is "Denmark for the Danes!"
in my opinion - they are all a bunch of racist jackasses...

those seem to be good translations to me (i was too lazy to translate the whole thing - sorry guys ) the point being made by the ad, in my opinion, is that Denmark should change it's policies and not allow immigration as it currently does - because according to current Danish immigration laws, Osama Bin Laden might be coming to Denmark (Ak-47 in hand!). Read what you will into the ad - in my opinion, and based upon my knowledge of Dansk Folkeparti - the ad is supposed to cause Danish people to make connections between a man like Osama Bin Laden and the many Muslim immigrants who have been moving to Denmark in the past years...

I can understand how Europeans feel about immigration. I don't want to have to learn Spanish to accomodate the millions that illegally cross into this country and push down the minimum wage.
It used to be India was a colony of England and now it's becomming the other way around.

India isn't a Muslim country. It's a Hindu country.

Do you believe that the Muslims attacking the Hindus in a "Hindu Country" are wrong?
If Muslims can defend their "Holy Land" and be justified certainly another group could do the same?
Or does that right only apply to Muslims?
