Ok, has anyone experienced this? I have a first flush casing of B+ finishing up and almost half of the shrooms have what I would describe as hairlip...the cap is deformed with an arc(quite honestly it looks like a pussy) on one spot, though the veil is totally intact...and it has been this way since the caps formed...

My humidity and temps are well within the parameters. So what the heck?

That's usually called a "rose coned" cap. Is it touching another shroom? Did you nail it with a H2O2 mister? They say that happens as a result of petrolium toxicity. Did you have any petrolium products near the casing?

ya know...my friend has some coir casings that have a bunch of these deformations, in fact, 2 or 3 fruits have started growing upside down, with the cap on the casing layer and stem growing up in the air...the weirdest thing he's ever seen, and some of them apparently have grown to 1-2 inches in height. Nothing has touched these fruits except air and very light misting....maybe it's the coir? what kind of casing layer do you have?

I am using a !5:1 h2o/h2o2 ratio...no petroleums...no other irregularities(except one really weird specimen that is pinning out of the cap?!) This is the 3rd casing from a single syringe and the only one that has shown these features...although strangely enough, these shrooms are huge. 8" average height...

Oh, and Egghead...no shrooms are touching each other, and this is occuring in roughly half of the shrooms(about 25 out of 50)

I bet you used a different material to case this batch. Seems like it must be something in the casing layer. Or, maybe you got ahold of the most potent bottle of hydrogen peroxide on the shelf. The content varies between brands, and maybe between bottles. I hope this gives you some ideas since you probably want to find the source of this anomoly.
