We're all gunna end up in the same place. Some people have different names for it, positive or negative, its all the same. And the popular concept of reincarnation is a con.

By the way, in my last life I was a toaster.

As far as an after-life-type Heaven/Nirvana goes, I have little to no use of such pontifications?
What I find as true Heaven ? as it is the basis of practical-spirituality ? is Here-Now-type Heaven/Nirvana.
People with rigid beliefs in an afterlife-type Heaven, or any other future-based salvation, can often take such beliefs insofar as to create a present Hell.. which of course drips with irony.

OK, who's going to volunteer to go there and check this out?

Buddhism isn't all that different than Christianity or even Islam in the belief of an afterlife. If you are a good person (create good karma) then you are reborn as a god in Heaven-like existence, and if you do bad things you can go to hell. The only difference is that in Buddhism you don't stay there forever, you keep going around and around. So really heaven isn't all that good because it is impermenent, distracts you from seeking enlightenment, and uses up all your merit leaving you with a lower rebirth.

Conjecture on an afterlife has no bearing on our spiritual experience. It's existance is totally irrelevant to our day to day living, as it's conjecture can bear no fruit of practical importance. The only important thing is that we are here now.

I don't call the afterlife the afterlife... I call it the afterdeath.

In the afterdeath, I join ecstatic union with my Beloved. I enter an Eternal moment of unfathomable Love and Compassion.

Cool, but this is the BEFOREDEATH. Death is for the dead...life is for the living.

What happens after death is very much important. If what happens to you tommorow concerns you, what happens when you die should concern you even more because it is such a big transition.

AS soon as you are going to a building to have "Church". Then you are in a religion.

Once you are asked for cash to support the "Pastor" Your in a religion.

Works for any faith.

God requires no cash.
