I'm just trying to help people out... I made my own syringe the first time I grew (when I was a "newbie" ; ) and I got my syringes from a veteranary supply store online... you can get a box of 100 syringes for about $25 and then 100 needles for about $15... they sell syringes in boxes of 10 and stuff also (what I did), they're pretty cheap and its not a waste of money if it turns out you like shrooms and want to continue growing... if you have a friend that works in the hospital you can also get ahold of syringes pretty easy, its the 18 and 16 gauge needles that aren't as easy to get ahold of. And by screw up I'm just saying that you got the shortest straw, I didn't mean for it to sound like I was calling people screw ups... should have said "just cause you got screwed". Anyway though, just trying to help you all out. Making a syringe isn't hard and off one spore print you'll have enough to make more syringes should something go wrong with your cultivation. $1 for a print, $6 for a syringe from sporeworks (shipping included)... Cheap. To make a spore syringe use some bottled water and suck 10cc or so into the syringe, squirt the water back out into a clean shot glass. Use a clean razor, exacto knife, or the needle on the syringe (after flaming it) to scrape some of the spores into the shot glass of water. Mix it up a little with the needle and then suck it back into the syringe. Whipe the needle off with some alcohol, put the needle cover over it and you've got a nice, sterile spore syringe. Psilocyber's tek. New syringes are sterile out of the package so you don't have to worry about sterilizing a new syringe. After using a syringe I soak it in chlorox for a little while, rinse it with some hot water, soak it in sanitizer, rinse with hot water, and place in a clean plastic bag... the good syringes are autoclavable too, I just use the little method I just said cause its worked fine for me. Just do whatever you want though, if you're not sure about yourself.. spending the extra dough on a spore syringe would be best... just don't use all the spores at once, make sure you get at least one cake to grow out so that you can get some prints. Either way you're gonna have to learn how to make a spore syringe unless you keep on buying premade ones. It sucks that the sporechicks are behind like they are : /
One reason experienced growers will order syringes is because they're cheaper and they've got experience and are less likely to screw up, unlike a "newbie". Why pay $25 for a print when you can get a syringe of the same strain for $15, grow it out and make your own prints. (Spore vendors aren't anywhere near as cheap as the fsr but they have a larger selection and usually have the newer strains before the fsr gets ahold of them... the fsr is gonna have some Puerto Rican cubie prints for $1 shortly though : ))

It is kind of shitty but what can you say if you get ripped of by a spore vendor. This is not the most legal profession but if you still have not gotten your spores by now then you can x them off your list of vendors. I know it sucks but part of the hobby.

Aye I'm aware of all the different spore syringe teks. I've done loads of research into cultivation. I was planning on trying to make my own syringes in fact... from my OWN prints though which would be totally free if I somehow screw things up. I may order from FSR who knows. I wished to avoid attempting to make syringes until the first successfull cultivation had been achieved if possible.
I do have a small order from Hawk's Eye however... that should be here later this week or early next week.
Syringe making is not the point though...the point is WHERE IS MY G/D SPORECHICKS' ORDER? :)> It is VERY annoying to get ripped first time out...expecially when you've been ripped by a supposedly "highly recommended" vendor for alot more than a $1 print. The SporeChicks when they responded to me in the past seemed nice enough and willing to please. I truly hope they are just having some problems that can be straightened out(and EXPLAINED). It is looking worse and worse every day that goes by with no response(s) however. Right now I hold very little hope of getting my order. I fear I have wasted my money and I am not a rich man. Partly my fault I suppose...perhaps I should have made a couple of small orders from several vendors to better judge the service I'd be recieving even if they were "highly recommended". We learn from our mistakes ...at least I do. :)>

Indeed ...what can you do? ..but spread the word...destroy reputations..etc. Like I said I hope SporeChicks shows back up with a good excuse and mine and the other's orders. If they don't...oh well..just more wasted money and one less vendor. If they do I should hope they get those orders out ASAP and offer some legitimate reason besides moving(which they stated was done) for this LONG delay and lack of response to any emails(or posts).

No news yet folks, this is not good, since they always get back to me quickly, but I have not given up hope yet. Maybe something bad happened, used to get my package within like 2 days of them receiving my $$. They are nice people and I cannot see them intentionally screwing people, something had to have happened...

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the shroom cultivating business too. Like the Great Cthulhu I also feel ripped off by the sporechicks. I'm not a well off guy so every penny I spend I expect them to be well spent and I spent $90 on a *!#damn spore kit! I am really trying to keep the faith but I'm losing it the more the days go by without a response. I'm with you GC by feeling cheated.

Hello, I've ordered from Sporechicks several times in the past(none since late last year) and have always received good service and excellent spores. Something bad must have happened to them, I just can't see them deciding to start ripping people off. They answered an email of mine late last month but I have'nt tried to contact them since.... Give them some more time to resolve whatever problem they're having before badmouthing them. Hopefully everything will be resolved soon without further damage to their good reputation.

No one is bad mouthing them....yet. They were good to you in the past ...fine that's you. The present is what concerns me though. Stop trying to defend something that does not need nor deserve defence currently. They have numerous people's orders and have not responded in over a week and 1/2 now. Several including myself have waited a ridiculous amount of time now for their orders(if their email service is down they should still have sent out orders)...over 4 weeks. No one here has straight up said they are ripped off yet it is just appearing that way more and more every day. As I said the SporeChicks were quite nice and willing to please in the past and I hope they return with a legitimate reason for this absence(hopefully no legal or health troubles..) As for their reputation it is currently no longer "good" and will not be "good" again until they get back here and explain what's happened as well as send out everyone's orders.

Ya, I'd be disappointed if I got ripped like that too : / Something I forgot about for anyone that hasn't ordered anything yet is that The Hawk's Eye has that $3 ($4?) replacement thing if you screw up. Thats nice just for a little insurance... also, the spore chick's grow kits are pretty expensive and you can make one almost identical for about #30. You can get those plastic containers for $4ea at wal-mart, perlite is about $2.50 a bag, verm is the same price, peat moss is also pretty cheap. You can find other containers and stuff to use as your casing container or whatever you'd call it.... I use those containers and just cut a hole in the top of them and covered it with plastic wrap and taped it off... they work nice... for under $90 you can get everything you need to grow mushrooms (except like a pressure cooker)... just buy the stuff yourself : )

I understand your anger, I'd be mad too if I paid for something I didn't get. They're in a buisness, I'm sure they understand how things work. If they don't get in touch with you & everyone else soon they won't have a buisness to come back too because even satisfied customers like myself will not order from them again if we see that they're not taking care of their end of the agreement. If they don't make things right with you -"rip 'em to shreds" for all I care.

I feel your pain dimitri, I am also a first timer, and wouldn't you know... all the spore vendors out there, I picked the one that would take going on 4 weeks now and still waiting...also money order was cashed.
Maybe they are saving up for a trip....lol Out of Country....
Well, I also ordered from Ryche a week ago, and have a print with sporeworks on order....
Someday I will get to use all my ingriedients I have collected instead of looking at them...

Thanks to a few of you loyal Shroomeryites for alerting me to this thread. For anyone who has a delayed order, of which there are 20-30 total, or if it has been a month or more and the mail is floating around out there, you have every right to wonder what the hell is going on with it. But, IN NO WAY are the Sporechicks a scam, nor is anyone ''screwed.'' If you don't receive what you've ordered, we re-send it, no matter whose fault it is.
I am not downplaying your concern or angst, but c'mon. We would never risk our reputation for money. This is a case of a move, a delay while we created and tested 2 ''clean rooms'' and a major e-mail snafu created by the move. Some people have been affected by the delay while others haven't received orders due to the occasional screw-up by the post office and this combination makes it look bad. But, rest assured we are completely above-board.
Every year a spore vendor is viciously attacked for ''lousy service.'' Other individuals fuel the fire. First PF, then Hawk, now us. Check the previous threads. All I can say is this: We are not better than you; we are you. We're all striving for the same things and occasionally our patience is tested. Or we stumble. Or both. We're not here to hack each other with words or screw somebody.

It wasn't my intent when I started this thread to "attack" you all. I was merely concerned because of your lack of response via email from apparently anyone including me... plus the fact your last email said my order was on it's way ...about 2 weeks ago. I hope you can understand my concern and other's concerns. I am glad to see nothing serious has happened to you though and glad your back online.
