im sure hes not the only one, but my friend cooked up his jars and his spores just recently germinated. He will prolly want to wait another 24-48 hours, which will mean his PCed jars will have been waiting for almost 4 days. I told him they would be fine becuz they are PCed, obviously they are fine. Just wondering.

I've keep em for a week waiting on liquid culture.. as long as they are sealed and taped there's no big rush.. keep them in a cool place to prevent anything from happening.

Just a word of well learned advice. Knock up or G2G PC?ed jars or bags ASAP. The longer you wait, the more you increase the chance of a Contam sprouting out - in them. But a day or 3 wait - after they cooled to room temp?s is usually safe. Any longer than that (IMHO) - you greatly increase the odds of something going wrong.
As an example, after you cook yourself a primo prime rib dinner, you don?t wait a week before eating it - do you?
Our environment is full of billions of contaminants, all looking for a place to breed. Even in the most aseptic conditions, even with every thing prepared under a flow hood, Comtam?s happen. A good example ....

Jars should be sealed, substantially lowering the risk of contam versus time. How long do all those home garden moms keep their canned tomatoes before using them? Your analogy of a steak dinner is very subjective because it is in an open air environment. I'm not saying you should wait a long time before innoculating, but it shouldn't hurt if proper sterilization was performed; from many peoples expierience it wont. If a contam happens in an aseptic environment, then the environment is not aseptic. I dont believe it's possible to have a total aseptic environment because of what you showed with the hepa. Lab hepas are 99.999% effective which leaves 1 per 100,000 organisms active at .3 microns or larger. The hepa image you showed is not used in a lab environment.

week and a half or so. had the liquid ready but not syringes. I won't run into the problem again. One jar looked like it had 'wet spot' but it could have just been regular old wet. I'm not familliar with the contam. Every grain jar I PC ends up with whatever grain was on the bottom most part of the jar stuck to the glass. Just a little that doesn't shake with the rest. seems to be going okay.
the right most jar, for instance. those are psilocybe mexicana 10 days after being PCed, and 5 days after inoculation. They're looking damn healthy I must say. Even more so now. Even areas that had no grain (the air/shaking space) are now full of mycellium. Its like it friggin snowed in there. I'll be in denial if any of them contam now.. shaking back and forth.
