Good morning everyone :smile:

So I just checked on my mushies and a bunch of my casings are pinning like crazy, with even more colonizing well. So I go grab a cup of coffee and check on the incubator and I have 10 quarts of contamed rye :confused:

I never get contams, I wonder what happened. They were all inoculated the same day so maybe I need new syringes. It was 2 different strains though. Oh well I guess Ill redo them today. what a pain in the ass. :thumbdown:

Whoa, yeah, something must have gone wrong. :confused:

I have 22 quarts in the incubator right now, although I did have 24. I looked in there a few days ago to see green on 2 of them. It always sucks when you see it because you're like, "damn, I hope the rest of them are okay..." and then you worry about your technique and wonder what happened. Fortunately, the rest of mine are looking good and healthy for now, spreading their white mycelium goodness around. :smile:

Hope you figure out what went wrong.

I think it was the syringes. Ive reused them quite a few times now. I steralize them every time, but maybe 10-15 times is to much. Im a little worried that I screwed up on my karo solution jars, though they look fine. all puffy and white. I have plenty of spores so Im not really too worried, its just that I have a tiny PC and can only fit 3 quarts at a time in there. Im gonna have to break down and get a big ass PC, cause my current way takes all day to do 24 quarts... and it get my house sooooooooooooo hot. At least I have a bunch of good casings going right now, should be fruitful. Im sure yours will be magnificent :thumbup:

I used to have a tiny PC too...then I finally hauled off and bought a monster on ebay. :tongue:

yeah I was looking at one that can hold 14 quart jars, that would be most helpful. $300 is well worth the time Ill save.
