removing small blights

Is it safe to remove (cut out/off) small areas of contamination from otherwise healthy, heartily colonized cakes? If so, how far from the contam should I cut to be safe?

Cut the contams away with a sterile blade then cover area with mosit verm...

In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, people take prozac to make it normal.
