Hello all, I need some help here....I picked some shrooms yellowishbrown in the center getting whiter towards the edges purple/black gills with the purple ring /skirt. what kind of mushrooms are these...Also what other species of shrooms can be found in alabama...I picked these and boiled 10 small caps 1" and made kool-aid and only felt a little.. was this because they were small or did i do something wrong. i know I am asking a lot ; }, but any information on this will be a great help.

Hi bongwater,

We'll need a picture of the mushrooms you found to tell you what you might have found.

Rule number 1;
Dont be stupid and eat any mushrooms if you dont know how to identify them positively.

Rule number 2,
Boiling shrooms decreases the potency of them drastically. Just eat them as is.

Fuck man, don't eat mushrooms without a positive ID, no offfence but that's just plain stupid/ignorant.

Ignoring that, they do sound like cubensis, especially if they where growing from dung. Make sure they bruise blue if you're looking for cubensis, make sure they're growing from dung and a dozen other things...you need a picture. It's VERY hard to ID a shroom without a picture - in fact it's sometimes pretty hard with one. :blush:

Check out _JJ_'s post asking for ID help a while back. There's good pictures of cubensis in there (and look-alikes) the real ones are in my post.

Anyway, by the sounds of it you have no f'n clue what you are doing and should thank fuck they didn't work that well. Read about it all at http://www.shroomery.com and http://www.erowid.com. Don't ever go pick random mushrooms and take a random dose. Fuck knows what might happen, it could scare the living shit out of you and change your life forever, I'm not talking out of my arse, this happened to my monkey once... ("uh, yeah...I think 5 or 6 dried grams is a light dose, dude...")

hey man first i aint no f'ing fool about sh!t....I was wondering mainly what the proper name was and if some were weaker than others.....I was with a dude who has picked for years he just donesnt know much about the technicalities...I posted this in hopes for some input not some dude trying to bust my balls........

Sorry man, I didn't know, I jumped to conclusions. :wink:

The name is Psilocybe Cubensis. Another possibility is the more potent Copelandia cyanescens. There may be other possibilities that I don't know about.
