Slow Pinning
    #3400713 - 11/23/04 09:23 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

It took about 12 days for my mini casing to pin. I've got about 5 pins. It's been 48 hours and I still only have 5 pins. They're growing okay. I thought once you had a few pins you'd rapidly get more?

12 hours light while I waited for them to pin. 8 hours light now. I used this method http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/25146 so I dunked the cake. I'm not sure what my temp is my thermometer broke, I'm thinking it's slightly warm in here ATM.

I'll have to get another thermometer then. Other than that, I've followed the tek.

be patient, be on the smell out for contams, also remember to FAN! your lighting cycle sounds good, also make sure your humidity levels are up to fruiting conditions.

I used this http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/25146 I don't need to fan or worry about the humidity. I sprayed the sides and the bag has lots of small water droplets in it.

Im not a huge fan of the mini casing tek. I tried 3 16oz cups once following the instructions with some leftover substrate, total yeild was about 6g dry over a month period like 2-3 flushes. Substrate could have been better used elsewhere.

I've realized that this isn't for yield, but 5 pins? That was not at all what I was expecting. The author said he got 5-6grams per cup. It seems like I wont even get close to that amount.

I have tried that tek and so far i have only had five pins on one of my solo cups and two of those matured and the rest stalled growth. My other solo cups are waiting to start pinning. I hope our mini casings start to pin. Let us know what happens.
