I think I threw out a jar that didn't need it

It's been 7 days since I innoculated 12 jars and they all germinated and so far i've seen impressive growth. I only innoculated at 1 site and in one jar I noticed this cobweb looking stuff thats by the mycellium but it's not where I innoculated and it was too thin to be mycellium and opened it and smeeled it all I could smell was the mycellium and the cake smelled fresh, but it definitly looked like cobweb mold, but i'm not sure if it was and I may have thrown out a jar I could have kept but I still have 11 left and I didn't want to puit the others at risk. The syringe was only meant to do 10 jars anyway. What i'm wondering is does cobweb mold smell?

I doubt cobweb got inside your sealed jar. Sounds like you tossed a jar with some thin mycellium growing in it! Usually, molds INSDIE your jars will be nice and Chirstmas type colors, greens and reds.

In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, people take prozac to make it normal.

PEACE

I've gotten cobweb in a sealed jar, probably improper sterilization. If the questionable mycelium was on the other side from where you innoculated then it probably is a contam.

In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud, Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed.

The others are doing rather well. I swear one is a little over 1/4 colonized and the bottom of the cake is about 1/2.
i"m growing treasure coasts and ecuadorians. The tc's are kind of lagging but the ecuadorians are going pretty fast. I'm imppressed.
