Wow that's great. Thanks for the quick responses. Friends frist time with grain. Little moist in there he thinks ( praying it dosent contam). Pics are 6 days after inocc. kept at 84-85F. He's afraid to shake. Doesn't want to get tyvek too wet. Should he even bother? Looks like its goin'pretty fast all over. What do you guys think?

just hold the jar in your left hand, and pound it with your fist hammer style untill all the chunks are broke up, and pour it out into your caseing pan.

He's gonna break up into as many pieces as possible then spawn a shit load of High Mountain Compost in several caseings

Ok first of all what is going on here. Shake your jars. Or tell your friend too. Thats the whole point we use grains, the tyvek wont get "Too wet" it will double your colonization speed. Im suprised noone pointed that out yet.

Also, why would you use a popcorn substrate if you arent casing or bulk spawning. Its not really conducive to make grain cakes.

I dunno, just some thoughts, looks great tho, definately mycelium.

Shake em and case em bro!

Kido

i only shake my popcorn jars one time, and let it recover.

if you really are going to spawn compost, you need to break up all the kernels the best you can, so you can have more inoculation points in the compost. it will break up the mycelium, but it will recover very fast and well.
