    #3397611 - 11/23/04 11:34 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

The Global top ten.

ireland
switzerland
singapore
netherlands
Sweden
finland
canada
denmark
austria
norway

i was surprised to see so many welfare states on that list, does globalization substain welfare regimes?

top ten global intergrated countries. they have a high dependence for international trade. for example norway is the 3rd largest exporter of oil, and imports half its food. my question is globalization good or bad?

i guess it depends... certainly, when one talks about food for example - globalisation has allowed Norwegians to eat something other than meat and potatos. I think that Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland are very "globally integrated" simply because they are all far north, and don't have a very hospitable climate to growing much...

It's good in the sense that when you're heavily invested in trade you don't go around whipping your dick out and fighting people.

One of my favorite quotes.

--------------------
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniencies attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson

A political globalization, is just a setup for world domination and tyranny. but a true human globalization of love after we get past the government bullshit, that would be good
