Possible contam...
    #3396463 - 11/23/04 02:06 AM (12 years, 16 days ago)

Im not sure if its contam or not, and i dont have a picture... im not even sure how well a pic would do... anyhow my 1st flush went off well, no real problems.. then somewhere by the end of it after i picked all the shrooms off i noticed a slight discoloration on the top of my cake. It was EXTREAMILY light and hard ot notice unless it was really in direct light. It has a greenish maybe even blue but im leaning more green tinge to it, but again its very light. Its not all over the cake just at the top part.. it doesnt seem to be affecting my mushies since the cake is PINNING like mad right now, in fact even more than the 1st time around. Any comments on what this could be? Its not really fluffy or anything either its like the rest of the myc, except discolored a little.

Sounds like normal bruising. A decent test is to take a clean cotton swab and wipe it across a small part of the suspected area. If the swab picks up some of the color, there's likely a mold. Usually when people have to do this test, they find that it's just normal bruising.
There are no absolutes, but usually when a cake begins to mold the pinning action and fruiting development suffers. Not always, but usually.
