I mean actually one doesnt need an TIT. Just incubate at room temperperature (ofcourse longer time is longer time for contams to get in).
And every 2 weeks you fill a cardboard with inoculated jars. When the first are ready form then every 2 weeks you will have a cardboard with jars. Cardboards are cheap you can also fill 5 cardboards every 2 weeks.. Or indeed maybe everye week depending on how many fruiting chambers one has..
But really Im gonna try this cause my tit is too small.

Thanks all. I will post updated pictures of the colonizing jars and the new jars I have done a few days ago. I could always just do everything at room temperature and wait longer for it to colonize. I'll have to move up to bags instead, though, so I can get more of them. Jars are out of season here and bags would make it easier to do more anyway. It's only been my first time growing, but it's about time to move on up to bags and casings.

Well here they are, day 13 and going strong, except for this one stubborn bastard.
^^ This is the stubborn one that just won't do anything past this!! Anyone have any ideas why the mycelium could have halted so quickly with no signs of contamination?
The rest are going along beautifully and should be great within the next week or two. I'm looking forward to it and then I'll be ready to birth these babies. Not actually sure if the cakes will end up working out, I might have to move straight to casings.
Here are 2 pictures of the new jars. They all look alike, so I just took pictures with different views.
^^ Wet side with exploded kernels
^^ Dry side which doesn't look to healthy.
Any input on what I can do to beef em up?

you have a great grow going on here. I've used millet, wbs, and popcorn and finally fell in love with rye. The colonization in the mycelium just looks so much healthier and white and fluffy with rye. I think its the amount of water rye can hold, but who knows.
Anyway, regarding those syringes... my advice is to go ahead and inoculate em. Just make sure with the wet one to not go over 1cc, and with the dry one, try 1.5cc's just to reset water content a little.
Both jars don't look too bad so I think you'll be fine.

Alright, thanks. I'll have to shoot em up and see how it goes. I'm hoping they aren't going to be ruined, I want to see how this strain comes out along with the one I have going now.

I'm looking forward to see your thread come up here. Even without pics it's nice to be updated. I like to see how things go and learn different ways to grow. I'll be showing some more shit here soon.
One quick question. Should I go ahead and shake the jars one last time to ensure colonization throughout the middle?

They look about half. They are only a day older than the pictures above. But they are going strong as hell.

To shake or not to shake at 1/2 colonized to initiate colonization throughout center? That is the question.

I heard that it's good to shake at 5%-20% and the one more towards 3/4, but 1/2 way, you could either shake now or a bit later, whichever you perfer. O and i got it up, it's called Gt's/creep, well im out, nice thread btw, later =0

Just my 2 peso's on this "shake" question.
Around 10 to 15% colonized -->SHAKE WELL ONCE.
That scatters already colonized grains & myc all over the jar.
Anymore shaking - actualy will slow the process. As it takes 2 or 3 days for the MYC to recover from being battered & to start growing again.
You do whatever you think BEST.
Just my humble opinion. Others may differ.

I shake one time, directly after inoculation, then i put them in my tnt for 15 days without looking at them, and they are always 100%

Shaking after 10-15% colonization can cut your colonization time in half. There are people who get consistant colonization from spores in 6-8 days for quarts..until your there theres always room for improvment.
Of course even at 2 weeks, it takes like 5-6 weeks of fruiting to get 3 full flushes out of casings so anytime less then that is just extra anyways to keep your fruiting chamber full at all times..I dont usually worry so much about the colonization times..I do usually shake around 10-25% though..sometimes a few jars I didnt shake enough and at 50% one side will have no myc on it and the otherside will be fully done..I'll shake again at that point sometimes. Sometimes I get to busy with making casings and harvesting and shit though anyways and forget about them and dont look at them for a few weeks until theyre done either.

Thats for all of your input. I shook them around 20% colonized and I will just leave them be now. They should be set within a week or 2 by the way things are going. So I don't think I want to screw anything up.
