Hey anyone have any suggestions on how to quite this thing done its for a friend who has roommates that might not enjoy the sound, also it has a place for a filter and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to put a filter of any kind that may help with the noise and that will help keep contams down, i know polyfil but his cat sees the fluffy stuff and goes crazy till he tears it off. also anyone know how many setups can be run off of one cool mist, it has a flat spot on the top about 1 1/2 inch by 6 inch and we were gonna put about 4 port holes on that space and run two chambers off it with a tube going in each side of each setup at the top. and maybe use it for four setups if possible, then there would only be one tube into each setup like the original Martha tek. well thanks for reading and helping out. and here's the pic

you cant really do much about the sound, most coolmists come w/ a filter already. using h2o2 in the water will kill most contams. i dont know why youd use it for four setups, why not just one big one?

there are marthas so there already pretty big, and also it did have a filter but it was a thrift shop deal so its pretty old and the filter was shot, and the company doent make em any more, i was thinking tyvek, and i tried it and it was fine but im wondering if its gonna burn out the motor becuase of air resistance

you can get a new cool mist for ~20 bucks. one can fit many casings in just one martha i couldnt imagine trying to make casings for 4 marthas. i guess a coolmist could provide enough air exhange for 4 30" marthas. its up to your friend if he actually needs 4 marthas. maybe he should start with just one and get his grow down first.

Not sure if you already thought of it but why not put it in a filtered box, something with a hepa filter on it or a poly fill filter and then just make sure you use some H202 in the water. I would think it would take care of some of the noise problem and give you cleaner air .... just a thought .. Good luck

Hes has his grow down, i can get some pics if you want, also we know it takes alot of casings to fill a marthat let alone 4. duh why do you think were doing it, (just kidding) i know it would be easier going bulk but he doesnt want to work with any new substrates like poo or straw, dont ask me why but he just seems to like rye with 50/50+ and again im just doing a favor, he was swamped with school work and work so i offered to search for a cool mist and i would never pay 20 dollars thats outrageous when the thrift store has em for less then half that. but i was pretty much just trying to do a good job on em for him, he only has two marthas that im setting up for him at the moment, he just asked me that if he was to expand in the future could he use just the one cool mist or would he have to get another one. plus i must suggest the thrift stores to everyone, ive gotten so much shit the past two days fo dirt cheap it shocked me, i got a pretty much brand new 22 qt. pc fot 10 dollars with a pressure gauge damn lifes good right now, also thanks for the help man i appreciate it, and i get what your saying on all of it, i personaly only have one martha thats not even full size but only 36" by 36" tall and its hard for me to fill it up, but he thinks he can do them justice so im just helping out and hoping that my goodwill will come back to me after he gets them running.

A friend used this method for 2yrs or so....Insert Coolmist inside and run hose/power plug thru the hole.

a cool mist is a crucial part of a setup and if your going to do it right you might as well bite the bullet and get a new coolmist with a filter. im with ya on the grains , rye and millet all the way. good luck bro
