    #3392255 - 11/21/04 06:53 AM (12 years, 20 days ago)

1. Just picked today
2. Turns blue on cap and stem
3. [CAP]
Coloration - Slightly brown in the center with a fading outwards to gold
Shape & size - about 2 1/2 inches diameter, ends of cap fold up and down periodically
Margin (incurved or regular) - Is margin cap shape? It folds down (incurves?) a bit

4. [GILLS]
Coloration - Light brown on the outside of the gills, gets browner towards the stem
Shape & size - Gills are close together, gills go: One Large, one small, one large, one small....
Spacing - Miniscule (a millimeter or so)
Attachment to stem -Gills meet at the white top of the stem

5. [STEM]
Coloration - Has turned blue at the bottom and partly in the middle, the top of the stem by the cap is whiter
Shape and size - Short stem (2-2 1/2 inches), curves a bit
Base (volva) present ? - Volva?
Hollow or solid? - Solid, has fleshy inside, hasnt turned as blue as outside

6. [FLESH]
Coloration - Remains its brownish/gold coloration but has some blue on the inside of the stem
Texture - Smooth with a residuous feeling, like a balmish texture over the flesh
Thickness - The flesh breaks apart in strands running from the top of the stem to the bottom
Special color traits -

PLEASE HELP. There has been reports of physcedlic mushrooms in my area and supposedly, this is one of them- please respond!! Tahnk you so much Shroomery!

Could you post some info about the habitat you found it in and the spore print?
Do you have a camer? A picture often does say more than 1,000 words.

All Psilocybe mushrooms have a hollow stem. it is wone of the characteristics of the genera.

Why would you mention volva?

Sounds dangerous! It is stupid to eat any mushroom without positive identification.
