not hard as in difficult to actually take the print as in hard to take the cap of the beautifull mushroom!

printing is so easy you can do it on accident. Once i had a mushie and i had picked the stem off and it left a print on my notebook.

I get what you are saying, they are like our little babies and we would not want to rip the head off of our babies now would we.

Judging from the donations to the FSRs a lot of people must be squeemish about cutting off those little guys heads.
Strange how those same people don't mind sucking every bit of life giving moisture from their bodies and then grinding them up between their teeth
At least if their heads are cut off and printed... they will pass on, knowing they will have a gazillion chances to have decendants to carry on in the family tradition.

Try to think of it this way. You are just helping nature along & doing a better job of it than mother nature herself does.

Dude I feel you. I have grown I don't know how many mushrooms and I STILL have yet to take a single print. I work with all cultures and mycelium..works much quicker then spores..a bit more difficult to continue but.. I know I need some prints I just cant stand to do it. I keep telling myself I will but then I just can't bear to.

I can't bear to grind them up to suck out their life force either though..they go dignified into tea.

If you're working with liquid scatmanrav, perhaps you could peel off the veil after it tears (mine are always coated in spores) and drop it in either a petri or karo jar.

Perhaps but it seems unsterile. I just use a peice of the inside of the stem in h202.

In your wanderings, If you ever run across a medical "core biopsy gun" for cheap, snap that puppy up.

They are the "bomb" for taking a tiny tissue sample from the center of a stem, without exposure to air.
