increasing humidity?

quick question for y'all i have some cakes in the fruiting chamber which consists of a rubbermaid container (one of the big ones), with perlite on the bottom (pretty moist), with 2 airstones in it with a fish tank pump. Now, the temperature remains around 75F from what the thermometer says, but the humidity is really low, around 60%. I have the rubbermaid container covered pretty tightly with saran wrap to keep in the humidity (seems to be not working or something tho) and i only take it off to fan. If i feel the sides of the rubbermaid container it is pretty dry, and the only part thats fairly humid is the way bottom next to the perlite...
any suggestions as to what could be going on and how i can fix this problem with the lack of humidity?
thanks

after reading thru some of the perlite tek's i realized i had way too much water in there, so i made it like an inch of perlite and a 1/4 of water, just enough so its really moist and drips a little when you pick it up, but not so moist that there is puddles everywhere.

Most teks I read suggest 2" perlite, 1/4-1/2" of water. That's what I have and I'm at about 80-90% humidity and still working on it.

For what it is worth go and buy an ultra sonic humidifier. Every one who wants to grow an abundance of shrooms should buy the thirty five dollar piece of vital equipment

sure if he has a spare one around why not use it. But its nonsense to spend $30 on a piece of equipment he could get away without just by using perlite the correct way. Obviously if he has that low of humidity with perlite he is not using it correctly. It sounded as if he had a ton of water in there. It seems like he has fixed his problem. We will find out tommorow whether or not he has.

you got an airpump with bubblewands going 24/7 you don't need to fan, thats probably why your humidity is low... the air pump provides the fresh air and makes fanning useless.. The pmp is the as magash says also the lazymans pod. try not fanning and see if your RH goes up.

If you bake your perlite until its dry, and then add the correct amount of water it should go up. I was having similar problems until I did this. With only perlite my chamber is 90-100% all the time.
