Is The World Coming To An End?

I don't care what religion you are, where you're from, whatever. Is the world going to come to an end soon and why or why not?

The world? NO because, unless we run into a planet sized Comet or Astroid this world will be around until the sun expands and melts the earth.

Mankind as we know it........ YES and I'd say in the next 10 years

Mankind will self destruct and the left over people will rebuild with the lessons learned and live with peace and love. I HOPE

Well the way I see it is that mankind will eventually find out its future, therefore giving us no future. Because of that, we will not be able to communicate with the next generation, therefore wiping out humans. Something along those lines.

my rock solid predictions of the future:

our civilization will end, maybe soon, maybe not.
humanity will eventually end, probably not soon.
the world will eventually end, but not soon.

The Sun's death will be Earth's Death... long before the Sun even collapses into a supernova, it will reach a massive size swallowing Earth along with it...

After that, we're all pretty much toaster strudel.

The world is not a too good of a place to be, its perhaps starting to bore 'me'. The next stage might be better, wont know until I've tried.

So lets everybody chip in, and let the slumber come soon, ok?

I think humanity will come to an end, with a highly destructive landmark on the universe. I have two possibilities. the nuclear weapons being the end of human kind, or an environmental disaster. I really think mother nature has started to be pissed at what are humanz doin, and will soon speed up to process, to out things in a natural balance again.

I have to ask this of people who think mankind will die from nukes. Who is to benefit from this? People in power like power. Having power over people requires living people to have power over. Such a choice makes zero sense.

I was just picturing some jealous puny national leader with nuke capablities going, "If I can't rule the world no one will muhuahahahahahaha BOOM!

Even if, so what? There are tons of cool places to reincarnate and you'd be with all your friends and loved ones in the other realms anyway together. Whats the loss if we all went out with a bang at the same time. I'm not loosing any sleep or good times over it.

You could die in a car crash tomorrow, or get hit by lightening, or killed by a home intruder looking for crack money. Do these remote possibilities stop you from LIVING and enjoying your day and planning for tomorrow? Why should these silly doom and gloom ideas stop you. if you let them, you give them the power to steal your life away from you. Thats foolish.

I think one who beleives in such an actual event like a global nuking wipe out watches to many cartoons.

BTW, I often talk about our personal power and becoming fully empowered. When I do, I am reffering to self mastery to the point of having no need to be controlled by others or 'ideas" or to want to control others. Either is just a reflection of feeling powerless. If all were empowered and self mastered responcibly with their own power, this other crap wouldn't exist.

just my fiddy tree cents.

The mother nature doomsday theory doesn't really hold up when you look at the evidence...it is true, we are losing species at a faster rate then ever before in history, we are consuming natural resources at a faster rate than ever before in history, therefore creating more harmful byproducts than the earth has ever seen, excluding the first few million years of it evolution. But, it would have to happen on such an impossibly large scale to create a natural disater large enough to wipe out the human race. It just can't happen...over time and gradually, yes we are basically killing ourselves and our planet, but junk like "day after tomorrow" will never happen. we also have plenty of space on the planet still...don't get me wrong, i am a forestry student and the last thing i want is for us to keep destroying our land with industry. but if it comes down to existing or not existing, we still have plenty of room left. the biggest threat i see is a nuclear one. a combination of our own genius and stupidity is what will kill us.

My money is definitely on nukes before nature.. but--assuming peace is somehow maintained, and without a complete change of methods to turn attention towards the environment--I think that eventually we would see something that would drastically change the planet's "stasis" or balance all at once, causing a lot of havoc but definitely not killing EVERYONE.

It may kill a small portion of the population, but a lot would survive, at the very least, through that initial "blast" of chaos.

The real question is, if something severe enough does happen, will it effect longevity of life otherwise? Perhaps a drastic increase in the hole in the o-zone layer.

I can't remember which country it is, but I remember reading something about how there is a HUGE increased occurance of cancer in people, despite drastic measure to avoid sunlight.. and all the animals have gone blind with catarax.

Anyway, if we didn't have that o-zone layer, or some equally stasis-threatening event occurs, I think average life expectancy would drop off a lot...

Then we'd more than likely be too far gone to regain the balance. the average life expectancy would drop off at a continuously quickening rate.. eventually either the humans alive at this time will figure out a way to reverse the effects through some incredible discoveries (not likely) or the spinning top falls over. (Game over)

That's the only way that nature will get us, I'd wager.

End date 12/11/2012, maybe 12/12/2012. Because the Mayans said so.

We're destroying the Earth slowly, and it must be getting seriously pissed off, and soon it will implode in a fit of its own rage.
