im thinking yes. you take 1-2 weeks for colonization then 1-2 weeks to begin fruiting and 3 days to grow. but that cuts it so close, 2 days to spare. and i have to leave on the 24th of Dec. to go on vacation. i really really want to try these new strains from T.H.E. that i just recieved today. i dont know anything about them because they havent posted any info on them.

You can get then in in that time frame. But only if you have the jars incubaitng at 86 degs. And only if you get then started TODAY!!
But I think you may be cutting it very close.

yeah its almost to close for comfort cause i would hate to leave them all alone and be 90% colonized and not come back for 2 weeks. but on the same token i dont want to wait. maybe ill make 6 jars and see what happens. and if i have to leave them then ill let them sit in the low 70's to try to slow the growth. is there any way i could store some cakes for 2 weeks after their first flush.

yeah your right haz. i should. its not like i need them or anything. thats funny i enjoy growing them as much as i do taking them, a great hobby. i have 3 cakes in the fruiting chamber right now and 7 more to soon be in there. so yeah no need for them. i can wait i know i can fight the temptation.

yeah i was thinking about that but then i thought what if one gets contamed and spreads to all of them. so right now i am thinking of a way to seperate. at first i thought plastic bags but then i thought may not be enough air exchange.

yeah i could always do that but there is always a chance. would using tyvek keep them from being able to spread outside of the jar?

jars dont need air exchange, all the air in the jar from loading it is plenty of air for colonization.

ah, but what about polyfil and tyvek. That is airflow and most people use those teks.

Someone here did a study on air exchange (in the archives, maybe?) and jars do need it. The sealed jars would stall, start back up when aired out and resealed, and then stall again in a few days. They don't need air exchange like a fruiting mush, but a little is necessary

OK I have read in this thread hat Jars do not need gas exchange.
While they may not, I have had many jars stall from a lack of Gas exchange and I am sure there are many, many long time growers who will say the same thing. 
I can say that with very good gas exchange growth rates can double. 
With that said,
I think you should just continue you grow as normal. When it is time to leave put them into the Fridge. Simple they will stall growth and stay in the fridge for months just fine. Ecen if the cakes start invetro pinning. Just put them in the fridge. When you come back it will be just like you never left.
