AFOAF asks:
"Its been 48hrs since inoculation, and I still see no sign of growth. Not even a single spec of mycelium. Am I just looking too early? Or is this a bad sign?
The temp of the incubation chamber is about 82F, but on the very bottom of it, its reading about 90F. Also, the rye is looking a bit dry. Somethnig wrong here?"

man you need to chill the fuck out. lol. it takes up to 10 days via spore inoculation. if your rye is 90 degrees that sucks, try to put a towel underneath it so its not so hot.

Doh, I dunno what I was expecting when it came to rye. Besides that, I guess i'll be as patient as I was with BRF/verm.

yes, you have to have the same patience. You're innoculating from spores, it'll take them probablly 6 days to germinate, then mycelium growth will start. If you look into karo water, you'll cut about 6 days off your colonizing time. Good luck bro!

not only will you cut off 6 days with karo but you turn 1 cc into 100cc's and you greatly reduce chances of contams.

Rye is fast you should see growth soon. My quart jars of rye never take more then two weeks to finish from spore most of the time it's 9 days.

I had a problem with my rye casing not colonizing very fast, I put two pills of coral calcium in it and it really started takin off, it's also on a heating pad.
I'm guessing I had a PH problem.

Yeah bro dont jump the gun. Once germination starts rye will shoot off with exponential growth after shaken, but you gotta give it time. My Rye jars are always done in 9 days after inoculation. Some are done faster.
Ive never tried Karo tek but it must work great from the sounds of it.
